Apparently I was one of those annoying children that asks questions all the time and a few years on, nothing much has changed - except now I get paid for it!
Since going freelance in 2005 I have written for a wide range of publications from The Times to Take A Break; and my first book "Gap Years: The Essential Guide" was published in November 2009.
I love the variety of topics and styles that I get to work on, which over the years have ranged from business and careers to relationships, real life and travel. More recently I have been concentrating on my interest in the charity and international development sector. I have twice been nominated for the Guardian International Development Journalism Award in 2010 and 2008.
Over the past few years I have used my skills and experience as a journalist to provide PR services for NGOS, working as Africa press officer for Plan International and writing press materials for UN agency, The International Trade Centre.
I also regularly teach a variety of writing and media courses as a visiting lecturer.
When I'm not busy with work you will generally find me cooking, dancing or planning my next travels, or any combination of the three!
